My Work as a Senior Policy Advisor with the Ontario Ministry of Health

I worked with the Ontario Public Service as a Senior Policy Advisor in the Digital and Analytics Strategy Division of the Information Management Strategy and Policy Branch of the Ontario Ministry of Health. I enjoyed working as a Senior Policy Advisor, where I tackled several confidential issues in collaboration with my teammates. My small team was an agile team, which helped to increase trust among members and focus on being positioned to deal with today’s rapidly moving digital world. I enjoyed the agile, flexible, and more creative way of working with people of several different disciplines.

I discovered that I love policy work, where it is possible to collaborate with members of interdisciplinary teams and solve complex problems. In my closing remarks at FIMULAW: Interdisciplinary Connections, I commented about how interesting it is to work with individuals who have specialties in different disciplines—there is a unique potential to tackle problems from different perspectives and generate novel solutions. I still believe this and I hope to get involved with additional collaborations moving forward.
