My Masters of Law at Osgoode Hall Law School

Link

I earned my Masters of Law at Osgoode Hall Law School. The degree concentrated on Employment Law. My major research paper was the main deliverable for this program. It focused on the intersection of Employment Law and Human Rights Law. More specifically, the paper delved into the prohibited ground of family status, namely the prima facie debate.

I enjoyed earning this degree and learning more about Employment Law. I believe that it helped to prepare me for my PhD by providing a good foundation, touching on each of the main aspects of employment and human rights.

Another important aspect of this degree was the opportunity to meet several lawyers who worked in the area of Employment Law--I enjoyed meeting, working with, and staying in touch with this dynamic peer group. In fact, I was asked by one of my colleagues from the program, Chris Davidson, to participate in a panel that provided a talk where I resented with two experts from the Alberta Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner (Cara-Lynn Stelmack) and LAWPRO (Juda Strawczynski), where we informed the audience of lawyers, HR professionals, and union representatives about tech and privacy issues related to working from home that remain highly relevant in light of the COVID-19 pandemic.
